If you are weighing up VetRelieve vs Omlet, Ivy & Duke offers another home memory-foam bolster bed to consider. Before choosing a brand, work out where your dog actually sleeps, how much room they use and what you can realistically wash at home.

We have not tested these beds hands-on. This comparison uses saved manufacturer specifications and prices checked on 18 September 2026, plus PDSA guidance. It cannot tell you which foam feels best to your dog or which cover survives years of washing.

The VetRelieve OrthoLuxe Bed, Omlet Memory Foam Bolster and Ivy & Duke The Lounger are comparable home memory-foam bolster beds. The useful differences are fit, cleaning arrangements, access and the price of the configuration you need. None earns a medical recommendation from this comparison.

For owners of dogs doing flyball, this is about choosing a home bed, not buying better race performance. Start with your dog on an ordinary quiet evening, rather than the dog in the product photograph.

Omlet has the lowest advertised starting price here. That does not establish it as the cheapest bed for a particular dog. Equally, VetRelieve's higher small-bed price does not establish better support or longer life.

What this comparison can tell you

These are beds to consider for a regular resting spot at home, rather than thin travel mats, camping bedding or crate cushions. Keeping the product type consistent makes the purchase questions more useful, although the size labels still do not match across brands.

We can compare what the manufacturers list, but cannot rank pressure relief, pain reduction, foam compression over time or resistance to repeated digging.

Treat words such as orthopaedic and vet-designed as prompts to ask what is inside the bed, not as a shortcut to choosing it. Manufacturer endorsements and pressure illustrations are not proof that one of these beds will deliver a better clinical result than the others.

VetRelieve OrthoLuxe: consider it for the protector

VetRelieve describes the small OrthoLuxe Bed as vet-designed. Its website describes memory-foam construction, while its OrthoLuxe feature information identifies removable covers and a waterproof mattress protector. Those are manufacturer claims, not results from our own washing or leak tests.

The protector is the clearest practical reason to put this bed on your shortlist. If protecting the mattress is a priority, ask VetRelieve how the inner layer is fitted, how it should be cleaned and what protection it offers around openings. Do not assume that a waterproof protector means the outer fabric stays dry or that the whole bed can be washed together.

Sizing needs attention. The small bed is listed for a dog up to 68cm long, measured from nose tip to tail base. The XXL bed is listed for a dog up to 128cm using the same measurement. These are dog-length recommendations, not internal mattress dimensions.

Even if your dog fits that length guide, check the usable sleeping area. Ask for its length and width inside the bolsters, particularly if your dog sleeps stretched out rather than curled up.

The small bed was £180 and the XXL £350 in the saved listings. Shortlist it if the stated protector and sizing advice match your priorities. Look elsewhere if the selected size exceeds your budget or the entry shape does not suit your dog. There is no evidence here that paying more buys a better medical outcome.

Also check the product name before ordering. VetRelieve lists a separate OrthoLuxe Mattress; it is not the same item as the OrthoLuxe Bed compared here. A cheaper mattress listing is not a discount on this bolster bed.

Ivy & Duke The Lounger: consider it for fabric and fit

Ivy & Duke The Lounger pairs a memory-foam mattress with blown-fibre bolsters. The manufacturer lists fabric choices and five external sizes, with a price range of £125 to £255. That makes it worth considering when the bed needs to fit a particular space and you care about how it looks there.

The listed external dimensions run from 72 x 56 x 22cm for small to 136 x 103 x 27cm for XL. Use those figures to check the footprint in your room. Do not use the whole footprint as the space available for your dog to lie down: the bolsters occupy part of it.

We have not verified the internal measurements shown in the image-based size guide. Get those confirmed for the size you want before ordering. A familiar size label is not enough, especially when switching from another brand.

Ivy & Duke describes the covers as removable and machine washable, and the lining as water-resistant. That last distinction matters. Do not buy it on the assumption that water-resistant means waterproof or that the lining offers the same protection claimed for VetRelieve's protector.

Choose The Lounger if its fabric options and confirmed sleeping area work for your home, and the selected price suits your budget. If your main concern is liquid reaching the mattress, ask the manufacturer about the lining before committing. We have not tested how it handles spills, accidents or repeated washing.

Omlet Memory Foam Bolster: consider it for configuration choice

The Omlet Memory Foam Bolster is listed in small, medium and large, with optional feet. Omlet describes removable washable covers and a washable bolster. Check the care instructions for each component rather than treating that as permission to machine-wash the foam mattress.

Its advertised starting price was £89. The saved configurator also displayed £139, but the captured text did not reliably identify the selected variant behind that figure. We have therefore used the starting price, not assigned £139 to a particular size or presented it as an equivalent to either competitor.

Omlet is worth shortlisting if you want to keep the initial spend down, provided the suitable size and options stay within budget. Build your actual selection before deciding it offers better value. A headline price is not a quote for the bed your dog needs.

Optional feet are a choice to assess, not an automatic upgrade. Ask for the entry height with and without them, then think about how your dog gets onto its current bed. For a dog with difficulty moving, discuss access with your vet rather than assuming a raised bed will help.

The saved page carried a limited-availability notice. Check the exact combination you want; this comparison cannot promise stock across sizes or fabrics. We also have not used ambiguous dimension-image labels to make claims about sleeping area or entry height.

Measure the dog, the sleeping area and the room

Before opening the checkout, watch your dog resting. Does it curl tightly, lie on its side with legs extended, or alternate between the two? Take a relaxed length and width measurement without forcing it into a position. Keep the manufacturer's requested body measurement separate from this sleeping footprint.

Then ask the seller for the usable internal length and width. For these beds, a product's outer dimensions and a dog-length recommendation answer different questions. Neither should be used in place of the sleeping area.

Mark the external footprint on your floor and check the route around it. Leave room for your dog to approach, turn and get out without squeezing between furniture. If you are choosing a larger size for sleeping room, make sure it still fits in the room without blocking the doorway.

For entry, request a measurement of the lowest access point. Do not infer it from the full height of a bolster. If your dog already hesitates when getting into bed, make that part of the veterinary conversation before deciding which shape to buy.

Check the washing routine before the colour

A removable cover is useful only if its care routine works in your household. Before buying any of these beds, ask:

• Which parts can go in the washing machine, and on what cycle?
• Will the selected cover and any washable filling fit your machine?
• How should each part be dried before reassembly?
• Can you buy a replacement outer cover and inner protector or lining separately?
• What do those exact replacement parts cost, and are they currently available?

We have not verified spare-cover prices or continuing availability for these configurations. Do not count on replacement parts to make a bed better value until you have found the correct ones. Nor can this specification comparison tell you which zip, seam or fabric will last longest in your home.

Read the returns conditions before allowing your dog to try the bed. Ask what applies to a used bed, your chosen fabric and delivery to your address. This article does not promise a trial period or a particular warranty.

Keep the home bed separate from wet kit

For a flyball household, a practical approach is to dry the dog before it settles into bedding and keep wet towels and muddy equipment elsewhere. Choose a quiet home position for the bed rather than treating it as another item in the race bag. These are household suggestions, not a recovery programme.

A bed does not replace veterinary advice

PDSA's arthritis guidance supports providing a comfortable bed and seeking veterinary assessment for signs such as stiffness, limping or reluctance to move. Do not assume those changes are just the result of a busy training session or something a new mattress will resolve.

If your dog has arthritis or another mobility problem, ask your vet about bedding and access as part of its care. This comparison does not establish pain relief, injury prevention or faster recovery for any bed. Buying one is not clearance for a dog with symptoms to continue flyball.

Shortlist VetRelieve if the stated waterproof protector is a priority and the confirmed sleeping space justifies the price for you. Its veterinary design claim is background information, not our verdict on medical effectiveness.

Shortlist Ivy & Duke if fabric choice, room fit and a memory-foam bolster design are your priorities. Confirm the internal area and be comfortable with a water-resistant lining rather than assuming waterproof protection.

Shortlist Omlet if you want to explore the lowest advertised starting price and optional configurations. Check the finished price, entry height and availability of the exact bed you select.

If your main requirement is the easiest possible access for a dog with mobility problems, pause the brand comparison and get advice on the right bed shape first. There is no overall winner without knowing your dog, and no tested durability winner in this article.
