What is the British Flyball Association?
The British Flyball Association provides the governance and sanctioning framework for BFA flyball. The association says UK flyball was established under the BFA in 1994. It operates as a volunteer-run unincorporated association rather than a commercial league.
The BFA supports organised competition across the United Kingdom. It registers participants and teams, sanctions eligible tournaments and maintains official event and results services.
How BFA racing is organised
BFA-sanctioned competition includes Open and Multibreed racing. Open teams can include any mix of breeds, while Multibreed competition uses a different team-composition format. The current BFA rulebook remains the authority for eligibility, racing procedures and competition requirements.
Starter and Intermediate racing can help newer dogs and handlers experience a competition setting before moving into sanctioned racing. These formats should not be treated as interchangeable with Open or Multibreed competition.
Getting started with a BFA team
The BFA directs newcomers to regional representatives and its official club finder. A local team can explain training expectations, dog readiness, membership and how competition entries work in practice.
